Surprise! Why I Rebranded Jungle Soul Collective

facebook

As a sensitive introvert, running my business the guru-approved way felt tough enough, but marketing in that shouty, hustle-driven way drained me to my core. Everything fell into place when I embraced my nature, and created my own gentle marketing philosophy — one that lets me lean into strategies that truly align with my strengths and energy.

I spend my days helping other introverted, sensitive service providers create simple and effective Pinterest strategies that attract the right clients without feeling overwhelmed. When I’m not working behind the scenes, you'll find me in my garden or knitting while rewatching my favorite TV shows for the hundredth time. ☕😊

New brand, new website, who dis?

Just kidding, it’s still me but my corner of the internet is sporting a new look. Pop the bubbly and throw all the confetti because we’re celebrating the new era of Jungle Soul Collective!

I hope you like it much as I do, especially after I tell you why I rebranded in the first place.

This has been a big undertaking. Big, scary, time-consuming but sooo rewarding and such a feel-good move! I’m learning to be okay with imperfections, so I decided to hit publish before everything was 100% done and perfect (saying this as I’m knee-deep into bringing all the blog posts and free pdfs up to date, eek).

Anyway, I’m so excited about the direction it’s going to take me, so let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way!

So why did I decide to rebrand?

1. I’ve niched down a ton

Over the years I’ve offered pretty much every Pinterest marketing service under the sun. Looking back I can’t believe all the projects I used to juggle but at the same time, I’m thankful for all the experience and clarity that has allowed me to niche down my field of expertise, offers, and client base with confidence.

What a relief it was to find that sweet spot and go from a one-stop-shop to a boutique business offering a very specific solution to a specific client!

I’ve also learned to be okay with the fact that I do not enjoy doing every aspect of Pinterest marketing as a job.

There, I said it.

That does not make me less qualified, it just means I focus on serving clients with my strengths (which we all should do, including you).

My services now fit the kind of work I enjoy doing best and help the kind of women in business I’m passionate about serving.

2. My brand and website no longer felt like me

This is a huge reason why I rebranded!

Up until revealing the new brand and website, I’d had the same website and logo since first launching it in 2018. Of course, I’d rounded out and tweaked everything as I went along, but for the most part, it was the same.

Meanwhile, I wasn’t.

In three years, you undoubtedly change and grow as a person. Your life changes, too. I feel like my life has done a 180 in the best way possible!

I reached a point where I was uncomfortable and out of alignment with my online presence. Honestly, I was afraid and embarrassed to show up because my brand and website poorly represented the business I was running.

Not exactly how to feel when your job is to show up and help other people be visible.

3. I had to switch to faster hosting

I’m so happy to announce that this website is created with Showit and hosted by WP Engine – a change I wanted to make for quite some time!

Because I was already starting fresh with a new brand and a new website, I knew I wanted dedicated hosting and a completely customizable, aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly website that’s easy to keep up to date.

The thing is, I’ve built about dozen websites since age 13 (including JSC ones), and I’ve always handled every part of it myself: the setup, coding, design, updating, and solving the crisis when things go wrong. It was fun and I love doing it all myself, but at this point in my life and work, I’m ready for a more low-maintenance option. Bring it on!

So when I learned that all the awesome websites I could not get enough of were built with Showit, I was reaching for my credit card.

My experience with Showit is perhaps something that deserves its own post in the future but I’m just happy that I’m no longer the girl with a slow website that recommends clients switch to faster hosting, hehe.

To sum it up

Rebranding (not to mention starting fresh with a new website, copy, etc.) is not for the faint of heart, but it’s such a cathartic and exciting experience and so worth it if you do it for the right reasons.

I spent just as long planning the rebrand as I did working on it. It took months of clarity work before I could even begin thinking about creating a brand and website that reflects it.

I also went live before it was perfect, and I’m so glad I did! Although some errors went unnoticed and I’m grateful for the kind people who emailed me about them. Thank you! I’m still in the process of updating all the Pinterest images, blog posts, and the Pinterest Audit Checklist.

I also used this experience to implement other changes, such as:

  • Switching to a VIP day business model
  • Replacing phone and video calls with Voxer (update: I explained this in a blog post).
  • Transparent full figure pricing and special rate for returning clients.
  • Making my referral program public (this is yet to come).

Lastly, I’m so glad to let you know I’ve launched an updated version of the Pinterest Roadmap! I’ve been reading your replies and taken your troubles into account. The new roadmap has been completely reworked and rewritten (not to mention redesigned) for the latest Pinterest best practices.
